Spike Grenade: Is a new grenade for Halo 3, like the plasma grenade it sticks to the targets, but also to walls, ceilings and floors. It disperses its damage in a concial pattern rather than a radius. Two of them can be carried at the same time. Here is an Article by Bungie that provides a detailed description of the spike grenade and how to use it.
Energy Sword: Is similar to that in Halo 2. The attacker attacks his/her opponent by waiting until he or she reaches a certain distance and then lunging.
Brute Spike Rifle (dual wieldable): It is a new weapon in Halo 3. It can rapid fire razor sharp projectiles or spikes at a target. The magazine holds forty spikes. It can be wielded in two hands like the SMG. However, it does more damage than the SMG and does not have as much recoil. In addition, they can be made to hit targets that have some degree of cover, because the spikes can bounce of a target if shot at an angle. This is a more detailed story from bungie of the Brute Spiker Rifle
Particle Beam Rifle: Is the Covenant equivalent of the human sniper rifle. it has enough energy for 18 shots, and it cannot be recharged. it has a x5 and x10 zoom scope.
Carbine: This is similar to the human battle rifle. IT is a projectile weapon that holds 36 rounds of ammo made of fuel rods.
Brute Shot: The brute shot fire grenade like projectiles that explode on impact. It is also fitted with a razor like bayonet. However, its clip can only hold four rounds of ammo
Needler: Razor sharp crystalline projectiles are fired from this elaboreately designed Covenant weapon, and it is widely believed that they use heat and organic signatures to home in on targets. Although easily deflected by energy shields, the needles cause a chemical reaction in close proximity resulting in an explosive effect. The needler is a very affective weapon, it has become deadlier in Halo 3 and can be picked up quite readily
Plasma Rifle:Is the standard light weapon used by the covenant. IT fires energy bolts. Nothing has changed much with the plasma rifle from Halo 2.
Plasma Pistol: The Plasma Pistol, like the Plasma Rifle, fires directed energy bolts instead of traditional projectile ammunition. This Covenant weapon is capable of quickly firing low-powered shots, or of charging a single high-powered blast which can rapidly deplete energy shielding. This high powered shot makes the plasma pistol a formidable strategic weapon if used in concert with other infantry weapons
The Plasma Pistol is the other light weapon that can tracker opponents, the other being the needler. In Halo 3 it appears that the Plasma Pistol tracking range has been adjusted so that it has become more of a close to medium range weapon. This reduced tracking ability has made what it is supposed to be a close range weapon, and brings more balance.
Plasma Grenades: This grenade sticks to targets, the blast is a radius blast. It kills most targets, and injures or damages those within the blast zone. It has a blast radius of thirty feet. Only two grenades of each type can be carried is now two.
